Soccer Referee Starter Kits – Kicking Off A Great Career!
A lot of soccer leagues and associations provide their referees with one of the basic soccer referee starter kits.
This referee kit is a package of equipment that helps an official referee to indeed referee games within that particular soccer league or area.
If you find that you are refereeing more or multiple games than it is a good idea to get a 2nd pair of referee equipment.
These referee kits includes all or some of the following: -
- yellow referee shirt
- black referee shorts
- pair of black socks
- a whistle (with lanyard)
- a coin
- copy of the Laws of the Game
It is a lot more cost effective to purchase a complete referee kit then to buy items separately. Most starter kits come with a yellow striped jerseys, but sometimes, at additional cost, you can change the colors or purchase additional colored shirts. The other referee shirt colors are generally red, blue, green, and black.
These referee starter equipment kits do not provide everything that an official needs though and referees are expected to supplement their kit with other items such as watches and shoes.
These are the other basic items that enable a referee to get started so that they can referee games from the moment they gain their certification. When a referee completes their certification they are then entitled to go out into the community and conduct official refereeing on league games. They could not possibly do their job without the right sort of starter kit!
